Happy New Year!

Today is the beginning of a brand new year. As always, it is a time of reflection and a time of looking forward. 2008 was good to us. I won't go into the details here. After all, the blog archive has it all! Here are my thoughts as we look forward to 2009:

Within the next 365 days, we KNOW that
  • Caleb will turn 3, I will turn 33 and Rudy will turn 34.
  • Rudy and I will celebrate our 10th anniversary.
  • We will have a new President - the first President that Caleb will ever remember, just like Rudy and I remember Jimmy Carter.
  • We will support each other in taking the steps to become healthier people.
  • We will continue to encourage each other when we struggle and celebrate each other when we succeed.
  • We will continue to thank God for all of the blessings that he gives us.

Within the next 365 days, we HOPE that

  • We (and our friends and family) will be healthy.
  • We will have a wonderful Florida vacation with Mom and Mr. L in June.
  • We will have a wonderful 4th of July vacation in STL with the Villines family.
  • We will finish and begin another school year without difficulty.
  • We will have fewer trips to the pediatrician and convenient care.
  • We will manage to finally get that 4-wheeler that Rudy has been eyeing for a long time.
  • The world will become a healthier, safer and more peaceful place to live.

Some of these are big things and some of them are trivial, but that's what life is made of. Wishing you and yours a very happy, healthy and blessed 2009.
