Caleb spent the night with Jerry, Sherry and Rebecca on Friday night. When I picked him up on Saturday afternoon, I noticed that his eye was a little "goopy" - like it was when he was a newborn and his tearduct was blocked. I didn't think much about it, b/c that cleared up on its own. By bedtime last night, it was really getting worse and he had tears running down his cheek, but he wasn't crying. He felt warm, so I took his temp and it was 98.9 - nothing to worry about. I called Jerry and Sherry and asked if he had maybe scratched his eye or bumped it or something. They said they didn't think so. When Caleb woke up this morning, his right eye was so matted that he couldn't even open it. The left one was matted too, but not as bad. We cleaned it like we did when the tearduct was blocked and he screamed like he did then too. After Caleb's morning nap, it was just as bad as it was when he woke up this morning. Rudy and I decided we were going to have to go to the doctor. Rudy had a Christmas gig at the Galleria, so I took Caleb to urgent care. He was a trooper, but didn't get a good report. He was running a slight temp of 99.9. We found out that he has a DOUBLE case of pink eye. I also asked the doctor to check his ears, because I was concerned about the decrease in his babbling. Well, lo and behold - he has a DOUBLE ear infection too. So, now we're starting another round of amoxicillin and a round of eye drops. This will be a fun Christmas trip! :)
Oh, yeah - weigh in: 24 lbs, 14 oz. Don't laugh!
